Welcome from the Whisperers

Welcome from the whisperers... The artists of the Whisper Collaboration invite you to share our journey. Twelve artists, each begining with a theme, will carry out a visual game of "Chinese Whispers". Our book pages will travel between us, each collaborator adding their own interpretation of the theme. The trick will be that only the originating artist will know what the theme is! It's up to the rest of us to decipher that theme only from the work of the previous artist and the set of 'page clues' that will grow as the collaboration progresses! Here on our blog, we will share images of the clues, and perhaps some other tantalising snippets of information...all adding to the intrigue. Join us, and see if you can guess each artists theme as the books progress!

Clue from Olley's Book

Intriguing!? Yes! Fun and colourful? Yes! I had several thoughts about Olley's theme, there was quite a bit of information to work with, in the end I went with the first idea/feeling I had! I also think what worked for me in putting together my page for Olley's book was the pressure of time. Once I had made up my mind where I was heading, I got out my favourite resources and mediums and just went for it. I used collage pieces over layers of phone book pages, there is texture in the form of fabric and an interactive piece! I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill and challenge of completing this page....have I got it right??? Only Olley will know! And that will only be revealed at the completion of the collaboration!

Peta - dang it!! these photos are being very difficult! Disappearing from view...works with the secretive theme I guess!! I can't quite figure out what's happening to them!

I'm not sure what's happening with my images, they upload fine and when I check the blog straight away they are there....could it be that the images are tooo big? I did use a high resolution when I took them. I thought that Picassa, which is one of the programs I store photo's in automatically converted big files to manageable sizes for uploading to blogs.....

Gosh Peta, I'm not sure what's happening here! When I load a photo (always high res), I can highlight it and set the size - I usually choose large, which seems to work fine. I would have though Picasa would have helped rather than complicated the issue! I wonder if you have a privacy or security setting in the Picasa album that might be messing with them?
